Casual Class 1 and Class 3 Waste Haul Driver/Equipment Operator

The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako is seeking applicants to fill two casual positions for Class 1 and Class 3 Waste Haul Driver/Equipment Operator. This position will fill in when needed to provide sick and holiday coverage for part-time and full-time positions within the region.

Waste Haul Drivers and Equipment Operators are primarily responsible for transporting waste materials from RDBN transfer stations to RDBN landfills. This includes driving Class 1 and Class 3 vehicles and operating roll-off bin system, walking-floor trailers, and stationery Tran-store bins to unload waste. Drivers will also be required to load wood waste into trailers or bins with an excavator prior to hauling. This position is also responsible for conducting thorough pre-trip inspections, securing waste loads, and routine maintenance of haul trucks, trailers and equipment. Waste Haul Drivers will periodically be required to assist with other regional district hauling operations such as landfill cover, septage receiving beds maintenance, and special projects when directed.

The hourly wage for a Class 1 position is $34.14, and for a Class 3 position, it is $31.85. Both positions are subject to a 3-month probationary period and do not include a benefits package.
