The Finance Department is responsible for the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, annual budgets and financial planning, tax requisitions, statutory financial report to the province, risk management, managing temporary financial investments, short and long term borrowing, bill payments, customer billing, payroll processing, and information systems. Finance is also responsible for research and establishment of new services and expansions of existing ones.
In addition to the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako, the Finance Department also oversees the administration of the Stuart-Nechako Regional Hospital District and prepares its annual financial statements and budget.
