Expression of Interest
Are you a non-profit society or community group (not covered by the services of a municipal or established fire department) looking to help increase community resilience caused by natural disasters in the rural areas (or outside of structural fire protection jurisdiction)?
The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako is looking for interested societies or community groups (within the RDBN Boundaries) to work with BC Wildfire Services to help with wildfire-related activities.
What is the Cooperative Community Wildfire Response Organization?
The Cooperative Community Wildfire Response Organization (CCWR) program is a way to increase community resilience by building a cooperative pathway for Community Groups to participate in wildfire response in areas that do not fall within a structural fire protection jurisdiction area.
This opportunity allows eligible non-profit Community Groups access to training and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Interested Community Groups will need to:
Fill out an Expression of Interest:
Is your organization eligible?
Are group members eligible?
What training do group members need?
What PPE do group members need?
If your group is successful, you will then work directly with BCWS
Complete paper work
Agree to roles and responsibilities as outlined by BCWS
BCWS will determine group activations and response activities
