The Vanderhoof Rural Fire Protection Area service is provided by Vanderhoof Volunteer Fire Department.  The Vanderhoof Volunteer Fire Department is operated by the District of Vanderhoof.  The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako provides annual funding to support operations and capital purchases.

Vanderhoof Volunteer Fire Department provides the following services to the Vanderhoof Rural Fire Protection Area residents:

• Road Rescue
• Fire Suppression
• Volunteer Firefighter Training
• Public Fire Safety Education
