Village of Burns Lake
Incorporated in 1923, Burns Lake is in the heart of the Lakes District, located on Highway 16. The village serves as the supply centre for approximately 7,000 people in neighbouring rural communities. The town's two malls and dozens of small retail stores sell everything from local artwork to hardware, sporting goods, and groceries. Forestry is the primary industrial driver with pellet plants and lumber mills as the main employers in the area. Agriculture, tourism, and mining (emerging) also provide employment for residents.
